LOVECRAFTIAN HORROR GAME CONARIUM OUT TODAY ON PC
Haarlem, The Netherlands – June 6, 2017 – Developer Zoetrope Interactive and publisher Iceberg Interactive are delighted to announce the release of their Lovecraftian Horror Adventure game Conarium, which releases today on PC. From 10AM PST onwards, players can purchase this beautifully crafted tale at a SRP of $19.99, through Steam and major digital retailers. To celebrate the release of this highly anticipated successor to the Darkness Within series, Conarium will be at a 15% discount for the week of launch.
Conarium is a chilling and gripping story involving four scientists and their endeavor to challenge what we normally consider to be the ‘absolute’ limits of nature. A tribute to the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Conarium is a homage to the events of ‘At the Mountains of Madness’, the classic 1935 Lovecraft novella featuring a haunting and atmospheric soundtrack, multiple endings and gorgeous graphics created using the Unreal 4 engine.
You, as Frank Gilman, open your eyes inside a room filled with strange, pulsating noises. Patterns of lights executing a Danse Macabre on the walls is projected by a queer device on the table. Having recalled nothing other than that you’re in Upuaut, an Antarctic base located near the South Pole, you find the place deserted and have a distinct feeling of something being terribly wrong. Somehow knowing that your memories cannot guide you enforces a strange feeling of vulnerability, a familiar yet alien sensation of being a part of a peculiar whole…Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. You have lost something important or gained something sinister…
Explore the Antarctic base, as well as dreams and visions. Study clues, unlock secrets but avoid macabre beings at all costs.
“Conarium is our third project and with it we sought to deliver players a horrifying new adventure – in a style that’s typical of H.P. Lovecraft’s writing” says Galip Kartoğlu, lead programmer at Zoetrope Interactive. “We built on Lovecraftian lore and expanded the mythos, the game being a homage to the events of ‘At the Mountains of Madness’. With Conarium we hope to contribute to H.P. Lovecraft’s long lasting legacy of crafting a highly atmospheric yet alienating sense of place.”
