Finnish indie developers Housemarque (Alienation) may not have settled on a name for their upcoming game currently dubbed Jarvis Project but they announced today that they will be shooting for a cablepunk art style. In contrast to the clean and sleek lines of traditional science fiction, the Jarvis Project is a grungy look full of cables. Cablepunk is designed to be a retro offshoot of cyberpunk. Jarvis Project game director Harry Krueger sat down in a new dev diary to talk about Cablepunk, to reveal the game’s first major enemy, and to show off some new concept art.

Jarvis Project is an upcoming hardcore game designed to pit players against each other in an arcade style leaderboard. Housemarque is working with legendary game designer Eugene Jarvis (Defender) to develop the new game. No word on a release date, but the game will launch on PC and PlayStation 4.
