Many people were expecting to hear something about Crackdown 3 during Microsoft‘s E3 press conference today but when the event concluded, many were wondering what happened. Well in a blog post from creative director Dave Jones it is explained that Crackdown 3 has been delayed to 2017 but when it is released it will be available for both the Xbox One and PC and will be part of the “Play Anywhere” program, meaning one purchase of the game will grant access to the title on both platforms.

He went on to say that “Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.”
