EL Gaming Has Been Crowned the Champions of the Wargaming.net League APAC Season I 2015-2016

 

EL Gaming Reigns Supreme. 

August 24, 2015 — After a hard-fought season of intense battles leading to the finals at Yongsan e-Sports Stadium (I’Parkmall 9th Fl.) in Seoul, South Korea, Wargaming proudly presents EL Gaming as champions of the Wargaming.net League (“WGL”) APAC Season I Finals 2015 – 2016. Beating out runners-up and three-time winners KONGDOO with a score of 7 – 1, EL Gaming went home with AUD82,953 from the AUD143,855 prize pool and 4,000 points.

Over the same weekend, Caren Tiger defeated Reforn Gaming with a score of 5 – 3 to claim third place, raking in 1,100 points added to their season’s tally. After the next and final season of 2015-2016, the top two teams with the most accumulated points will move on to represent APAC at the Grand Finals in 2016.

Speaking to Wargaming.net after their win, EL Gaming said of their future plans, “We hope to make even more of an impression next season. We will strive to maintain our strengths by training constantly, and our goal is to let the world know of our prowess in World of Tanks and be worthy representatives of China and Asia!”

The season finals saw about 650 viewers at the live event over the weekend, and close to 10,000 viewers watching the final matches on the six livestream channels hosted by Twitch.tv and Niconico.
