Portion of Sales from H1Z1 In-Game Crate Key will Constitute Winner’s Prize Pool
SAN DIEGO – Aug. 11, 2015 – Daybreak Game Company LLC today announced its Road to TwitchCon, where the company will be hosting its first H1Z1 Invitational at the inaugural event in September. The H1Z1 Invitational is an opportunity for players and Twitch personalities to come together and fight to the death in the extremely popular survival mod, PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battle Royale, for a chance to win real-life money.
In addition to fans of the game, the H1Z1 Invitational will feature popular Twitch streamers, such as LIRIK, summit1g, CDNThe3rd, LegendaryLea, Sodapoppin, SeriousGaming, SxyHxy, iijeriichoii, reynad27 and many, many more!
From Aug. 11, 2015 to Sept. 22, 2015, Daybreak Games will contribute 25% of sales from the H1Z1 Invitational Crate Key to the progressive prize pool for the 2015 H1Z1 Invitational. The H1Z1 Invitational Crate allows players a chance to obtain one of several coveted in-game items: weapon skins, emotes, T-shirts featuring prominent broadcasters, including OMGitsfirefoxx, Towelliee, dasMEHDI, GoldGlove, itmeJP, and will also feature a special Twitch “Glitch” hoodie.
“Battle Royale is immensely fun to play and watch. Whether you are hiding out or actively hunting down another player, your heart is racing and you are on edge, not wanting to be taken by surprise,” said H1Z1 Producer Steve George. “Many claim that they are great at Battle Royale but there can only be one survivor in this Invitational. It will be a thrilling match to the end and we’re excited to see who will come out on top.”
H1Z1 will be playable at the Intel Gaming Lab during the show, with the Invitational taking place on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to noon PDT. Players unable to attend TwitchCon 2015 can tune into Twitch to watch the Invitational live.
Leading up to TwitchCon 2015, Daybreak Games will host a three-week contest between Aug. 11 and 31. During this time, three players will win a trip to TwitchCon 2015 and the opportunity to participate in the Invitational by sharing ‘why they are a Battle Royale badass’. Participants must submit their entries (various mediums accepted) here: http://bit.ly/1JPkR17. Winners will be selected based off of community votes and in-house judging. Winners will be announced on or about Aug. 20 and 27, and Sept. 3, 2015.
A fourth player will be selected to win a trip to TwitchCon 2015 from attendees of PAX Prime 2015, where Daybreak Games will be featured in the Twitch booth. PAX attendees will be able to participate in the contest by submitting a photograph using an H1Z1 mask distributed only at PAX to share ‘why they are a Battle Royale badass’.
