Seven Seas Entertainment has garnered something of a reputation for their monster girl manga line-up and while these series cover the harem, comedy, and slice of life genres they have yet to obtain a darker series until today.
You see, today the company has announced that they have acquired the rights to Katsuhisa Kigitsu’s Franken Fran manga. Described as a “dark parody” manga by Seven Seas, Franken Fran follows the sory of Fran, the reanimated daughter of the greatest surgeon that ever lived who has taken up her family profession after he went missing. Despite her Frankenstein-like appearance, she cares deeply for her patients and holds the motto “All lives must be saved, no matter the cost!”.
This means of course that the ends always justify the means, no matter what ungodly creations emerge from her lab. Seven Seas is planning on releasing the Franken Fran manga over the course of four two-in-one omnibus volumes with the first omnibus set to be released on February 16, 2016 for $19.99 USA / $22.99 CAN.
