Owners of the Dark Souls PC port (the Prepare to Die Edition) are now able to update their game to replace Windows Live with Steamworks. First announced through the Steam community forums, the post contains update instructions for both digital and disc owners. Save data and achievements can also be transfered, but as a word of warning, you will only have until February 16th to complete the process. If this deadline is not met, there is no guarantee that achievements and saves will be retained.

The popular action role playing title, developed and published by From Software, was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. It achieved critical acclaim upon its release, and a PC version was soon in the works after an online petition gained traction enough for the port to be approved.  You can purchase the game here through the steam store for $19.99.
