Ubisoft has had an extremely busy Gamescom 2014, showcasing first gameplay for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, getting people hands-on with Far Cry 4, and giving us an extended look at Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

The commented solo demo below shows an early story mission, tasking player protagonist Arno with assassinating a Templar with strong economic connections named Sivert. Demonstrated is the open approach to mission design that the development team at Ubisoft Montreal has taken with this instalment, as the player is given the freedom to tackle their objective in any way they see fit. The video also highlights the beautifully recreated Notre-Dame cathedral, built to scale.
