BEST NINTENDO 3DS
POKEMON X & Y
In 1996 when Pokemon was first released in Japan, I wouldn’t have thought people expected it to become as hugely popular as it is now. Six Generations to explore, 718 different Pokemon to catch, 17 Pokemon types to master and millions of fans the world over that would sell their souls just to get their hands on a brand-new Pokemon game release early. Pokemon has evolved with each generation that has been released, it continues to grow and reach heights that we as the players hoped for but never really thought could ever be done…but it seems as though, time and time again, Game Freak has proven to us that they really can’t be beaten. Much like the Pokemon they created, Game Freak continues to evolve, they become stronger as a company and it always results in the release of an even stronger title.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y has basically done the things that Pokemon fans have been hoping for, no, praying for since the end of the first games and for a developer to “make good” on the unspoken promise of eventual perfection is a feat that is almost impossible to accomplish. We live in a time where games are harshly criticised so to have the release of a game get no bad reception is, once again, a huge accomplishment. Congratulations on winning our “Best 3DS Game” award Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, here’s to you bringing Pokemon fans more joy in the future. – Frank Inglese
