Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet-Badge-ANIMATIONWhile the storyline for this specific series might not have been anything special and people managed to jokingly guess the plot twist from the second episode, only to be shocked that they were actually correct later on, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet excelled at one thing and that was amazing animation. While its slow pace and predictable twist might have steered some people away, many viewers stayed simply because of how great this series looked thanks to Production I.G.

From the designs of the ships that link Gargantia together to the look of the water, everything in the environment of the series is gorgeous to look at and this is made all the better thanks to beautiful looking character designs that saw some of the best looking characters of the entire year. Even when CGI elements were implemented to portray Chamber and, these CGI elements blended flawlessly with the rest of the series and produced some excellent combat sequences. One can ignore a few faults in a series depending on how amazing it looks and just episode of Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet can easily hook a viewer into the entire series. – Travis Bruno
