Steam breaks record with 7 million concurrent users

Data from the Steam Statistics page has revealed a new milestone has been reached for Valve‘s digital distribution service. During the Thanksgiving holiday, a peak of 7,190,460 concurrent PC and Mac users was recorded. The allure of Steam’s Spring sale, with generous discounts on popular games such as Tomb Raider, Payday 2 and Farcry 3, proved too much. This record was achieved despite the recent launches of the PS4 and Xbox One.

With an ever-increasing community, it is highly likely for more success to come Valve’s way with the upcoming release of their Steam Machines. Steam has a community of over 65 million users. One can only imagine how much larger Steam can become.
