Alienware have today announced the newly reinvigorated Alienware Aurora – their flagship gaming desktop – which, at entry configuration level, will now come with 2 TB of storage, an overclocked Intel Core i7-4820K Ivy Bridge-E processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX760 1.5GB DDR5 graphics card, all for $2,699 (AUD).

General Manager, Alienware, Frank Azor said;

Alienware has always pushed the limits with the capabilities of its platforms, and the award-winning Aurora is no different. Hardcore gamers around the world will be able to play the latest games at the highest settings, on a system engineered to deliver the ultimate gaming experience for years to come.

The optional ALX chassis is innovative in its ability to take on the thermal and acoustic challenges of the latest performance components, featuring an intelligent thermal management system that monitors key locations within the chassis to ensure heat is being dissipated optimally. The vents atop the chassis open actively to release additional heat and the premium CPU liquid cooling enables overclocking and lowers operating temperatures. Its internal theatre lighting and tool-less, cable-free hard drive caddies support effortless upgrades.

The Alienware Command Center has also seen an update. In conjunction with the ALX chassis, users will have 20 colors to mix and match between across 8 different lighting zones for great visual customisation. That’s 25 billion possible lighting combinations. AlienFX is also being incorporated in over 60 big-time videogame titles; healing, taking damage, the completion of missions..all are indicated by the AlienFX lights. Also featured is AlienAdrenaline, a custom game and application launcher, a system performance optimiser and a performance monitoring tool, as well as AlienFusion advanced power management and Thermal and Active Venting controls.

The Alienware Aurora will be available on Dell.com.au in Australia and New Zealand starting from September 13. If you’re looking for a more portable gaming solution, then click here.
