Despite snubbing a possible Wii U version of the title many months ago, today it has been announced that Borderlands 2 will be released on the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2014. The announcement was made during Sony’s Gamescom press conference and it appears that the game will still feature the same four-player co-op that fans have grown to love.

Details about how the game will work on the Vita and if anything will have to be removed for it to work are currently unknown, but Randy Pitchford has given fans a bit of a message over at 2K Gamesblog site where he mentions that the title is being published by Sony and Iron Galaxy Studios will have a hand in bringing the game to the Vita.
