If you’ve all been keeping up to date with this season’s anime then you’ll know of a series called Mushibugyo. For those of you who don’t know what Mushibugyo is; it’s an anime set in the Edo period of Japan but with a twist…gigantic bugs. Yes, gigantic bugs. In this anime we see samurai pitted against insect in a battle for supremacy. The main character Jinbee Tsukishima is part of a team which has but only one purpose: Save Edo from these gargantuan critters. The series has been noted as; “like Bleach on crack” and I can honestly see why.

Namco Bandai Games revealed on Wednesday that a 3DS, action/role-playing game is in the works. It is based off of the anime and manga and will feature playable characters like Jinbee and his fellow Mushibugyo members that you’ll be able to use against an array of giant insects. It will be available in both physical form and through download. The game will be available for 5,980 yen, which is about US$63, and is slated for release on the 19th of September this year. Both an early demo and a new promotional video for the new game will be released at the Jisedai World Hobby Fair ’13 in Chiba on the 29th and 30th of June so expect some big news about this game to surface within a week or two.
