In what can only be called a sleeper hit, Yusei Matsui’s Assassination Classroom manga has become a massive success. The manga’s first volume has now topped 1 million sales, an impressive feat for such a young manga. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in July of 2012.
Assassination Classroom follows an alien hell-bent on world destruction, that decides to give the world a year to try and kill him. In the meantime he decides that he will teach a middle school class how to do just that – assassinate him.
The first volume of Assassination Classroom had an original print of 300,o00 copies, but due to overwhelming demands has undergone several reprints.
