Today during Sony’s PlayStation Live event at New York City the lead system architect on the PlayStation 4, March Cerny, has revealed a few technical specs of the newly announced PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 will come with a built in x86 CPU and will have an enhanced PC GPU which will be supported with 8 Gigabytes of on-board GDDR5 memory.
Along with that announcement Cerny also announced that yes, there will be a local hard drive in the PlayStation 4 but he did not elaborate further. He also mentioned that there will be a secondary chip inside of the PS4 which will handle all of the downloading which means that all downloads can be performed in the background even while you’re playing a game.
