Mein Kampf – Breaking Into the Games Industry

Step  Two: The Interview

To my surprise, the interview happened almost immediately after I replied. Continuing this trend of abnormality I was told it would be done over Skype™. Unknown to me at the time; this was how Capsule staff members communicated and collaborated online. This now come to think of it, is kinda cool and progressive- in terms of how ordinary 9-5 organisations work.

Before I logged online, assuming that it would be a web-conference – (when I hear Skype I immediately associate it with the word ‘webcam’.)  – I quickly changed clothes; cause naturally at 1am a person would be in sleeping gear; got ready as one would do for an interview and funny enough all that was made redundant – the interview was done through chat.

[ Interviewer: Editor in Chief – Phillip Federico ]

The interview lasted around two hours- ending just before 2am. Imagine having to survive an interview by not just simply being awake but by sounding semi-competent aswell, despite the sleep deprivation and lack of preparation. A few V cans assisted in this undertaking.

Volley after volley of questions from both sides transpired, until both employer and potential employee were satisfied with the answers. Or until we were both dead (I assume). The whole interview felt just like an IM chat with friends; relaxed and informal.

My first impressions of Capsule Computers can be summarised in this one quote: “Good ideas are common – what’s uncommon are people who’ll work hard enough to bring them about” – Ashleigh Brilliant

Im Reggie and I look forward in becoming another storyteller in this land where entertainment is en-Capsulated.

…Also play hard or don’t play at all. Good advice- Take heed.
