South Park: The Game Has Some New Screenshots

If you are getting excited for South Park: the Game, then I have a wonderful treat. There are some new screenshots available. Some a character portraits, like the foul-mouthed, Jew hating Eric Cartman, who will take the role of the wizard, judging by his clothing. Portraits of Stan, Kyle and Butters are also available. There are also what seems to be battle scenes, which gives an insight on what enemies the familiar cast will engage with.

South Park: The Game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who were behind Knights of the Old Republic II and Fallout: New Vegas, for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game will see a release in the second half of 2012. Hopefully, the game does justice by the show and its creators, although I would be sure that this game would have not gone into production without the blessing and Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

After reading an interview with Matt Stone and Trey Parker in Game Informer, I have a feeling that this game is going to be extremely true to the show.
This is the first “true” South Park game. Matt and Trey are actually writing the script and are heavily involved with the whole process.
Being big gamers themselves makes me confident that not only is this going to be a great South Park game, but just a great game overall.

They said they actually had to map out all of South Park and figure out where everything was in relation to everything else, which they’ve never really thought about, so it’s been a challenge but they were enjoying the whole process.

I’m really looking forward to this game.
