South Park: The Game Has Some New Screenshots

Sony THQ Nordic Xbox 360 RPG Playstation 3 News PC Microsoft

If you are getting excited for South Park: the Game, then I have a wonderful treat. There are some new screenshots available. Some a character portraits, like the foul-mouthed, Jew hating Eric Cartman, who will take the role of the wizard, judging by his clothing. Portraits of Stan, Kyle and Butters are also available. There are also what seems to be battle scenes, which gives an insight on what enemies the familiar cast will engage with.

South Park: The Game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who were behind Knights of the Old Republic II and Fallout: New Vegas, for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game will see a release in the second half of 2012. Hopefully, the game does justice by the show and its creators, although I would be sure that this game would have not gone into production without the blessing and Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Josh is the name, writing is my game... well my degree will say that. But, when uni gets me down (and it does), there is no better way that to grab a chair, sit back and slicing up some Darkspawn I started my gaming interest back in the good old 16 bit era with the Sega Mega Drive and Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I was roughly five years old. To this day I still try to fire up the dusty companion and speed through the wacky and bright levels, jumping on some Badniks, collecting those damn Chaos Emeralds. Then I moved onto Sony's disk based console the Playstation (thanks to my uncle). Since then I have picked up each of Sony's consoles from the 5th to current generation that has been released in Australia (with more to come). In terms of writing about games, I am quite new to the field. I started out late last year with my own blog before deciding to move to greener pastures. I have written a few reviews for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. Features as well. I hope I can flex my muscles while writing with Capsule Computers. If I'm not gaming, however, I'm writing narratives. I am currently trying to kickstart a high fantasy novel (which, hopefully, turns into a complex RPG) that I want done in five years or so. My passion of writing has been there for a long time and has flourished as I grew. I'm into the fantasy genre, both games and novels, and thoroughly enjoy a deep and complex RPG, whether it comes from the East or West. Oh and anime is awesome!

After reading an interview with Matt Stone and Trey Parker in Game Informer, I have a feeling that this game is going to be extremely true to the show.
This is the first “true” South Park game. Matt and Trey are actually writing the script and are heavily involved with the whole process.
Being big gamers themselves makes me confident that not only is this going to be a great South Park game, but just a great game overall.

They said they actually had to map out all of South Park and figure out where everything was in relation to everything else, which they’ve never really thought about, so it’s been a challenge but they were enjoying the whole process.

I’m really looking forward to this game.
