Professor Layton and the Last Specter Dated For America!

Puzzle Nintendo News DS

Finally! Professor Layton and the Last Specter was brought out for the Nintendo DS all the way back in 2009 for Japan, and Nintendo have finally announced that this prequel for the series will be coming to North America on October 17th. Set three years before Professor Layton and the Curious Village, this title will tell the tale of how a young Luke met the Professor and also include a “100 hour” bonus RPG called Professor Layton’s London Life, which will be available from the beginning of the game.

I have always been fond of the Layton series, and this new adventure certainly looks to bring new life to the franchise and shed even more depth into both of the main characters. This release also signifies that Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle which launched on the 3DS in Japan should also be in the process of making the trip over shores as well.

I do love these games, and that RPG is supposed to be a precursor to Fantasy Life for the 3DS- definitely worth a look at 100 hours.

Beginning to want a 3DS now, congrats Nintendo, you got there eventually!

European release is November 21, but for some reason PAL versions aren’t getting the RPG as well. Odd.
