Wii price drops to $150 on May 15th, Nintendo Selects line-up launched

Despite retailers jumping the gun and placing the Wii on sale for $149.99 early, Nintendo itself had not confirmed any price drop and had stood by the $199.99 price tag. That is until today when Nintendo confirmed that on May 15th the price of the Nintendo Wii will be sold at $149.99 and you will be able to buy it bundled with Mario Kart Wii and the Wii Wheel accessory. Mario Kart Wii will replace the Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort previously bundled with the console.

Besides the Wii price drop, Nintendo fans will also be able to purchase a number of titles for only $19.99. These titles will be placed under something called Nintendo Selects and will include any of Nintendo’s hit games. These include Animal Crossing: City Folk, apparently Mario Super Sluggers, Wii Sports and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. These titles will go on discount on May 15th as well.
