While handheld gaming has arguably improved over the last few decades, this is perhaps one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. YouTube user 33Bender has uploaded a video of his creation, a 1/8th scale arcade cabinet loaded up with a MAME emulator. MAME, or Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator, is a type of software that allows users to run arcade games and has allowed DIY types all over the world to create their own multi-game arcade cabinets for years. This little guy is built around the GP2X Wiz, a handheld MAME emulator.
As seen in the video, the micro cabinet is loaded with tons of arcade roms and has fully functional controls, making arcade gaming on the go a convenient (and impressive) operation. To see this little MAME cabinet in action check out 33Bender’s video, where he shows off the world’s smallest authentic Donkey Kong experience.
