That sound of chainsaws clashing together can only mean one thing. The Gears of War 3 Beta has expanded. While anyone who picked up Bulletstorm for the Xbox 360 has been playing the Gears of War 3 beta for over a week now, the rest of the world has had to sit and wait until today where they could access the beta themselves. Of course this is only with a code you received if you happened to pre-order the game from GameStop or any retailer outside of the US who is also giving out beta codes.
If you have pre-ordered the game then your code is good for the beta that has started today for pre-orderers. The beta will run until May 15th so despite the later start fans of the game will have roughly three weeks to get their chainsaw on. Also if you happen to play enough matches you can unlock the Thrashball Cole character and the Gold-Plated Retro Lancer for the full game when it releases later this year.
