Com2uS, a leading developer and publisher of iPhone and iPod touch games, announced a new update of HOMERUN BATTLE 3D, formerly known as Baseball Slugger: Home Run Race 3D. With a simple title change, the game has been plowing through the Top Paid Games charts with an increase of 24 ranks in one day.
HOMERUN BATTLE 3D is a home run baseball game for sports gamers and casual gamers alike. The core of the game itself has not changed much in this recent update but the heart of the download increase is due to clever brand naming. Com2uS believes that HOMERUN BATTLE 3D is a better title to position the game as the only baseball game with a real-time online matchup mode described as “Battle”.
“With a plethora of games out on the App Store, it has become increasingly difficult to have a game stand out from the rest”, said Don Lim, General Manager of Com2uS America, “so your title must draw in customer interest while intuitively describing what features exist in the game”
Along with the new title, HOMERUN BATTLE 3D has also changed their App Store icon and screenshots while adding new features such as Facebook and Twitter posting. Com2uS has also reported potential trademark issues with the word “Slugger”, but has been able to turn this issue into a positive marketing strategy.
